Senior Software Engineer — ERP Integrations

Company: ERP Unlocked Inc. (Ordermatic)
Location: Cleveland, OH (preferred) — remote considered for exceptional candidates
Type: Full-time or contract
Compensation: $8,000–$12,000/month depending on experience

We’re building Ordermatic — AI-powered software that automates the intake of purchase orders and syncs them directly into ERP systems. We save operations teams hours of manual data entry every day.

We’re early-stage, revenue-generating, and signing customers fast. We just closed our third customer with two implementations kicking off simultaneously. It’s a small team and the work is real — no busywork, no red tape. If you like building things that work and seeing customers use them, this is it.

You’ll own ERP integration tracks end-to-end. That means:

  • Reading and understanding ERP vendor API documentation
  • Building durable workflows and data pipelines that communicate with external ERP systems
  • Writing the Python and TypeScript that connects our document intelligence layer to the ERP
  • Making sure nothing breaks in production

We’re kicking off multiple ERP integrations immediately. You’ll own one of these tracks from day one.

Short-term (first 60 days):

  • ERP connector for a real customer going live
  • Data sync pipeline: crawl ERP products, customers, and pricing data into our validation layer
  • Durable workflow: validate extracted order data against ERP reference data, submit on approval
  • REST API integration with proper auth, retries, timeouts, and error handling

Medium-term:

  • Generalized ERP adapter pattern (we’re building this across multiple ERPs)
  • Improved validation: confidence scoring, auto-submission rules, exception handling
  • Schema extensions as new customer requirements surface
  • Order splitting and multi-document submission workflows

  • Backend: Python 3.11 + workflow orchestration + data pipeline tooling, uv for packages
  • Frontend: Modern React + TypeScript (SSR framework), pnpm
  • Database: PostgreSQL + ORM (no manual SQL — ever)
  • Queue/Cache: Durable workflow engine + Redis
  • Storage: Object storage (S3-compatible)
  • AI: LLM APIs + AI orchestration layer in production
  • Deployment: Container-based, self-hosted cloud infrastructure, GitHub Actions CI/CD
  • Observability: OpenTelemetry + log aggregation

Required:

  • 5+ years building backend systems in Python (or polyglot with strong Python)
  • Proven experience integrating third-party REST APIs — auth, rate limits, retries, error handling
  • Comfortable owning a feature end-to-end: design → build → ship → monitor
  • Can read API documentation and figure things out independently
  • Strong async Python
  • TypeScript/React at a working level — you don’t need to be a frontend specialist but you can’t be afraid of it

Nice to have:

  • Experience with durable workflow orchestration (Temporal, Prefect, Celery, Airflow, etc.)
  • Data pipeline experience (Dagster, dbt, Airflow, etc.)
  • ERP integration experience — any platform (NetSuite, Epicor, Acumatica, WhereFour, or similar)
  • Worked at an early-stage startup before
  • Cleveland area — easy to collaborate in person, especially during customer onboarding

Not required:

  • Deep ML/AI experience — we use managed AI APIs, not model training
  • DevOps expertise — we have infra sorted, you just need to deploy confidently

  • Small team, async-first, no daily standups
  • Clean branching strategy with code review
  • AI-heavy development workflow — we expect you to use these tools
  • You’ll be close to customers during onboarding — technical conversations with operations teams are part of the job

  1. Intro call (30 min) — background, fit, what you’ve built
  2. Technical screen (60 min) — walk through a real integration problem, live or async
  3. Offer

No take-home assignments. We’ll look at real work you’ve done if you have it.
